Review for Heart Fate

Reviewer Comments: This heartfelt story is the seventh in this series and true emotion comes through. Tinne Holly finds he is to be divorced. He knew his marriage was in trouble but his first wife and non-HeartMate, Genista goes through all of the motions and creates a situation where he is the first in the FirstFamilies to be divorced. He runs to FirstGrove sanctuary to heal his wounds and meets Lashin.

Lashin is hiding in FirstGrove as she has left her husband, the cruel T’Yew, after too much abuse. While she is there she goes through her second Passage and meets her FamDog-to-be. She also encounters Tinne and they befriend each other. Tinne holds a secret, he knows Lashin is his HeartMate but he cannot tell her and this begins to tear him apart more than his divorce.

The reader is taken through the anguish Tinne feels at his failure to make his marriage work. A woman he married as he had lost his HeartMate when her parents sold her to an older man. There is the soothing sense as the pair repair and heal at FirstGrove, the despair as the HeartMates are torn apart and then the joy at their reunion.

There are many characters from previous stories who make a small impact upon the major plotline but the reader may have some difficulty with the world building if they have not read the previous stories. The FamCat and Dog make an interesting addition to the story as they are there for their owner but also have a unique personality. Each Residence also has a personality and we are able to see how a Residence begins and how a Residence is lonely and these unique characters add to the overall story.
